Still Life

I created this piece as part of my senior thesis project about 5 years ago.  It’s kind of interesting to look back and see where I’ve come from.  Back then, this was my existencial way of playing with the traditional notions of fine art in the age of electronic media.  With modern art gravitating more and more toward the digital end of the spectrum, art could no longer be narrowly defined as it had been in the past.  Traditionalists argued that electronic media was too commercial and reproducible to be truly defined as fine art, though one would think that this argument had died in the seventies.  Personally, I thought that the traditionalist viewpoint was a crock, since what artist wouldn’t like to make money from their work, as well as see it appreciated by the masses.  Argue what you will, but as for me, that argument is for another website entirely.

Enjoy!
